This site is a conceptual intersection and budding brand of rock & roll and baseball, all wrapped up in a big ball of art.
I'm Colter Bollinger of La Mesa. I work with mixed media covering the areas of woodwork, oil paint, tile, sand blast, found objects, glass, woodcuts and computer techniques. Most pieces involve 2 or 3 elements.
Do I play a musical instrument? I wish.
But years of family road trips, all with Paul Simon, John Fogerty and Bob Seger playing in the background definitely helped progress my virtual imagery into art. Add that to 20 years of concerts and hundreds of albums, it should all count for something.
As for baseball, my career peaked at Whittier College where I pitched and played outfield for the Poets for 3 years. At that same time, I studied art and received my Bachelor's Degree.
I've been creating art long before I chose it as a major. I have artists in the bloodlines and artists on the block providing encouragement and inspiration.
Nowadays you can catch me working for my dad at Kelsey-Colt Construction while working in my home studio to bring your art commissions to life.
